Intel & Google going from Desktops to Dashboards

AUDI

Technology giants Google and Intel are turning their attention to cars and hoping to bring the power of the pc to the dashboard. Here the system is installed in an Audi;  Audi says it tested its system to reduce the amount of time that drivers spend looking at screens.

These systems can be used for navigation, music, videos and many more multimedia options as such, giving the driver a wide range choice. Safety advocates say that such distractions cause thousands of wrecks and injuries each year but the companies have said that they also want to make sure that it is safer and safer.

“Cars are going to become probably the most immersive consumer electronics device we have,” said Michael Rayfield, a general manager at Nvidia, a chip company that on 7th January Thursday announced a deal with Audi. “In 2010, you will sit in these things, and it will be a totally different experience.”

These giants of the industry have planned to give the consumers what they want and are pretty sure that the technology consumers will receive will be a lot better then what they had expected.
